Lorenzo lived next door in this building.
After a long hot summer day of toting 5-6 pound watermelons over top of hundreds of other watermelons, while doubled over in the back of a c0vered pick up truck.
Lorenzo's payment was a watermelon.
He began selling watermelons and making preserves at his grandfather's home in 1979. Seen here after a fire in the 2000's, on the southside of Chicago, Il.
Today Lorenzo with fellow Farmer Diana Martinez, Owner at Dee's Crafty Bees are teaching families about farming at Chicks Ahoy Farm.
